I'm counting 8 colours also on the picture. The board being 16x16 (256 squares) suggests that most of the numbers in the game will be powers of two, like 4 sides, 8 colours, 8 shapes, and so on. On the official website http://www.eternityii.com/ there can be seen some shapes but with different borders too: maybe there are 8 shapes (square, triangle, pentagon and so on) ending on 4 or 8 different smaller shapes (round, square, triangle, etc.)
